Christenings x 2

On Sunday 30th July, we had William and Olly Christened at ‘our’ (or as William prefers it ‘his’) church (St. Nicolas in Bookham), where Helen and I got married.

It’s something we have been meaning to do for some time and now that Olly is about nine months old we thought it would be a suitable time to get both him and William Christened – a kind of two for the price of one deal.

We were a bit worried as to how it would all go. Olly is known for fits of temper when things aren’t to his liking and William can be unpredictable in the way only a three year old can be in front of an audience. As it turned out, both boys were a dream.

I had to hold William over the font as he is far too heavy for our Vicar to manage but he happily put his head back to have the water put over him with a big smile on his face, quite unlike the tears we get when he has his hair washed.

When it was Olly’s turn, he was more than happy to oblige too, even giving our Vicar a cuddle afterward.

I’ve posted some photos of the day to our Flickr account although they are only available to friends and family. If you would like an invite to view them, please email me and I’ll sort it out (see the About us page for my email address).
